Have you ever wondered what the Average Australian wage is?
Well..according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS):
The average Australian weekly income is: $1164.60
The average Australian annual income is: $60,892.
This constitutes a wage growth of just 1.6 per cent over 12 months to the end of last year, which is the slowest annual pace on record.
However, full-time employees were slightly better off, earning $1,592.40 per week, or $82,804.80 across the year, an increase of 2.2 per cent over the year.
Males earn more
The ABS report found that the average full-time weekly earnings for males was $1631, while females earned $1388.70.
While there is clearly still a gender wage gap, female wages rose substantially higher than that of males: 3.2% vs. 1.8%.
